64. back from obs

ok im finally back from obs camp. this camp is much much better than all the other boring camps i had, althought this camp is still damn tiring.

day 1:
finally arrived at pulau ubin, obs campus 1.
known our instructor, vivian.
played some ice-breaking games or so. learnt to belay.
pitched tents and cooked own food by the seaside.
rained heavily at night and had to sleep in multi-purpose hall instead of tent. it was damn cold and 3 of us went to the toilet to sleep and dry our clothes with the typhoon blower in the toilet.

day 2:
went rock climbing and pasted some papers to form a sentence. i was damn scared of the height.
after that played some lame games with 3 other groups only to lose miserably.
learnt to kayak and went into the water for nothing.
went for the jetty jump. i was damn cold because i was in the water a few moments ago and also because i was the last one. i was damn scared and i totally hated the sensation of falling. the sea water seemed to be blinding my eyes.
packed things for expidition the next day.
finally able to sleep in tents at night.

day 3:
finished packing everything for expidition.
went to practise kayaking.
i got into the kayak and when the person sitting behind me got into the kayak, we capsized and since we were just beside the rocks, i used my hands to protect my body from hitting the dangerously dangerous rocks, thus earning myself a few cuts, one of which seemed infected the next day due to the unhygienic conditions.
when it was our turn to practise rescuing someone, the currents and wind were quite strong and we were near a purposely built big brown piece of floating wood, somewhat like a small place for ships to park. the other guys' kayak went under ours and was soon under the big brown pieces of floating wood. the other guys' were still there clinging onto their miserable lives while vivian contacts the shore for emergency help and saving our pathetic lives. the sea seemed so eager to drown us and crush our worthless little lives like how esther would want to crush our exam papers if she sees us flipping it open without her permission. believe me, you wouldn't want to know how i feel or you really would think i'm so damn sadistic.
meanwhile, at the same time, another group of people doing the capsize drill were in a real dangerous situation like us too.
after that ordeal, i finally realised that my grey harry potter shirt which was used to keep my head from being sunburnt was lost in the sea while doing the capsize drill.
started to kayak to our next campsite after delays. it was damn tiring and there was one kayak which capsized on the way. and since we were waiting for them to catch up afterwards, vivian decided that we should complete our capsize drill, which we gladly did so to pass our time.
ok, so we finally reached our destination after some time and we went into the campsite which was actually just a piece of forest with some parts cleared to accomodate tents. there wasn't any toilets and we had to pee into the sea. and if we had to shit, or maybe in nicer terms, sugar honey iced tea, we would have to dig a hole and cover it after finishing our business. again we cooked our own dinner.
at night we had to do our shift in watching the campsite lest any strangers or boars or whatsoever comes and invade us, and during our patrolling, we heard our neighbouring island the side of johor, playing loud music, most recognisable being rihanna's umbrella. heck! we could even hear the music like half a kilometre, how did the people living in johor ever sleep. they are seriously some crazy nocturnal owls.

day 4:
finally, this is our last day and also the most difficult day of all.
we had to trek back to our campsite, and we had a checkpoint to pass, which we lost our way one time before being able to find that damn far checkpoint. then we finally arrived a few hours later back at obs campus 1. it was seriously damn tiring and i was most f***ed up about carrying the ziplock trash bag with a pair of soaked shoes in it. i was f***ed up about that because ziplock bags does not have handles for me to carry that bag comfortably. while carrying the fetid pile of compost during the journey, i was really so damn angry and upset, plus the heavily inhumane bag aggravating the condition, i actually started entertaining thoughts of dying there, which soon after i thought of burning down obs campuses as i felt that there was no need to sacrifice myself for this camp.
after we arrived at the camp (finally), we had to pack our stuff and prepare to go home.
the amount of stuff we lost amounted to near $100 and everyone had to pay about $6. it was incredible as we heard that a small little ordinary blue bowl from the cookhouse costed $2 and that an ordinary red tray costed $6. that's heavily overcharged, not as if it's imported from germany or whatsoever.
ok took a boat away from pulau ubin and went to the mainland. i took 82 to my grandma's house and ate and bathed there before my father came to fetch me.

next day, we went to school and had assemblies after assemblies. and then we finally set out to lido to watch a movie called pride. it was ok but why ain't there any subtitles? then we got our report book back to find out that i got an msg of 2.43 before heading to kfc to eat and then at last going home.
